Aryan Rai is a journalist with over 5 years of experience who began as an engineer but traded blueprints for bylines.

That decision took him to the U.S. for a master's degree in journalism and eventually into reporting across a variety of beats.

He covered elections, kept an eye on state and local governments, and wrote about people living without homes and adequate amount of food. He also wrote about immigrants learning to live in a new country, investigated forever chemicals found in drinking water, and the impacts of climate change and how communities are adapting.

Now, he continues to tell human stories, focusing on the environment and how its degradation ripples across beats, trying to humanise and report the planetary crisis occurring as you read this.

Half a decade later, his reporting still pairs facts and numbers with human experiences to tell accurate and engaging stories.
