Aryan Rai is a journalist who began as an engineer but decided to trade blueprints for bylines and tell stories that matter.

That path took him to the US for a master's in journalism and a stint as a reporter, writing about everything newsworthy under the Sun.

He covered public shootings, elections, kept an eye on the state and local governments, wrote about people without homes, immigrants learning to live in a new country, investigated forever chemicals found in drinking water supplies, and also explored a growing appetite for bagels.

Now back home, he continues to tell human stories while focusing on a planetary crisis his country is acutely vulnerable to.

Five-plus years in, his reporting still leans on the same instinct of pairing facts and numbers with lived human experiences.
